Slide presentations can lead to inflexibility for instructors and cognitive overload for students. Yet, slides can help instructors organize and increase the use of visuals. Instructors should think deeply about selecting instructional materials, including slides, digital handouts, and websites that students can interact with and use to access the content after an instructional session.
